Raaaaaaaaa stu tu tu tu tu - Tshirt

$19.95

The "stu tu tu tu" sound that you hear from turbocharged cars is the sound of the turbocharger's wastegate opening and releasing excess pressure.

A turbocharger works by compressing air and forcing it into the engine's cylinders. This compressed air allows the engine to burn more fuel and produce more power. However, if the turbocharger produces too much pressure, it can cause engine damage. To prevent this, turbochargers have a wastegate that regulates the amount of pressure by diverting some of the exhaust gases away from the turbine wheel.

When the wastegate opens, it allows some of the exhaust gases to bypass the turbine, reducing the pressure on the compressor side. This sudden release of pressure creates a distinctive "stu tu tu tu" sound as the air rushes out of the system.

The sound can also be accentuated by the design of the turbo system, as some manufacturers deliberately tune the exhaust and intake systems to create an aggressive, high-pitched sound that adds to the car's sporty character.
