The Honda NSX, also known as the Acura NSX in North America, is a mid-engine sports car produced by Honda from 1990 to 2005. The development of the NSX was led by chief engineer Shigeru Uehara, who aimed to create a high-performance sports car that could compete with the likes of Ferrari and Porsche while maintaining Honda's reputation for reliability and ease of use.

The NSX was introduced in 1990 with a 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 270 horsepower, and was praised for its handling, performance, and comfortable driving experience. It featured an all-aluminum body, suspension, and engine, which reduced weight and improved performance. The car's high-tech features, such as variable valve timing and an electronically controlled suspension, were ahead of their time.

In 1997, the NSX received a facelift, which included a larger engine displacement of 3.2 liters and increased horsepower to 290. It also received updated styling and suspension improvements.

The NSX was discontinued in 2005 due to declining sales, but its legacy lived on. It was the first mass-produced car to feature an all-aluminum body, and its technology and design influenced the development of other Honda vehicles. In 2016, Honda introduced a new version of the NSX, the NSX Mk2, which features a hybrid powertrain and advanced technology, while still honoring the legacy of the original NSX.
