The Saab 9-5 Aero was a high-performance variant of the Saab 9-5 luxury sedan produced by the Swedish automaker Saab between 1997 and 2012.

The first generation Saab 9-5 Aero was introduced in 1997 and featured a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four engine that produced 230 horsepower. It also came with sport-tuned suspension, upgraded brakes, and distinctive 17-inch wheels.

In 2002, the second generation Saab 9-5 Aero was launched with an even more powerful turbocharged 2.3-liter engine that produced 250 horsepower. The new model also featured upgraded suspension and a revised exterior design.

In 2006, Saab introduced a BioPower version of the 9-5 Aero that could run on both gasoline and E85 ethanol fuel. The BioPower model produced 260 horsepower and had lower carbon emissions than the standard model.

The Saab 9-5 Aero was well-received by automotive journalists and enthusiasts for its combination of performance, comfort, and safety features. However, Saab struggled financially in the late 2000s and was eventually sold to Spyker Cars in 2010. Production of the Saab 9-5 Aero ceased in 2012 when Saab went bankrupt. Today, the Saab 9-5 Aero has become a sought-after collectible car among Saab enthusiasts.
